Gale, Tom

 

Thomas C. Gale was born in Flint, Michigan on June 18, 1943. His academic training was received at Michigan State University, where he earned a BA degree in 1966, a MA degree in 1967 and an MBA degree in 1978. Gale worked in the exterior and interior studios for both passenger cars and trucks at Chrysler Corporation before becoming Vice-President of Chrysler's Product Design Office. During his career, Gale was part of corporate advance and production design activities, and contributed to special niche studies which ultimately resulted in products such as minivans and convertibles that contributed significantly to the profitability of the Chrysler Corporation. He has also acted as a consultant to Mitsubishi, Maserati and Lamborghini as a part of corporate worldwide design activities. (Adapted from Automotive Design Drawing Collection finding aid.)
