Office of Institutional Research The College Administrative Services Council (CASC) conducted a student survey in February of 2005 to assess Food Services at the college. The goal of this survey was to gather information regarding customer preferences and usage patterns for the OCC student centers in order to provide recommendations for future services and offerings. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected through surveys (web and e-mail), focus groups, and interviews. A total of 1,205 OCC students responded to the survey. Office of Institutional Research The following report presents the results of a study conducted by the Office of Institutional Planing & Analysis. Through a survey of currently emailed Oakland Community College students, the study sought to evaluate current use of the College's vending machines and cafeteria food services, and to identify ways in which existing services might be improved to better meet the needs of the students. Survey respondents were asked how many times per week they were on campus, as well as how many times they used both the vending machines and the cafeterias. Students who stated that they did not use at least one of OCC's food services were asked to indicate what their reasons are. Those who reported using food services at least once a week were asked to evaluate the importance and quality of various elements of both vending machines and the cafeterias, including food quality, prices, cleanliness, customer service, healthfulness, and food variety. Finally, students who us the services were asked to make suggestions as to how the existing food services might be improved.
